I am very happy to show you these beautiful drawings made by @victory677 in my last online drawing session with my baby. I wasn't too sure if it would work because it was the Friday morning after Thanksgiving but we ended up doing the 2 hour or so of poses with my baby and here are some of the results.
Every time I model with him I feel that time machine and feel nostalgic to think about when I will stop being dependent on my body, when I start walking and when I stop breastfeeding, little by little those milestones will mark us but for now we can record this moment and having drawings of us is wonderful, thanks to those who have drawn us because for me it is to honor that period in the life of a mother and the life of a human being that is invisible to the modern world.
As mothers we remain isolated being the support of a life that is not yet prepared for the world, which is developing in our care and our support at all levels. This process is socially invisible and therefore very lonely. Being able to model with him and feeling that I am portrayed reinforces the value of the work I am doing in my son's life.
If you have a mother close to you who is going through the puerperium process, honor her, congratulate her, let her know that if you see the enormous task she is doing for humanity, we mothers need more spaces for recognition, more patience and more company in the delicate task of raising.
